Based on the thematic theory of Halliday and other systemic functional linguists,this paper analyses on the characteristics of the marked theme makes in Chinese News Stylistics.The marked theme has its own characters on the word-class,syntax component and functional category.The frequency of the marked theme also varies in the different newspaper and types of news.Our study focuses on the correlation between the marked theme and the types of news,the marked theme's word-class and types of news,the marked theme's syntax component and the types of news,and the CF marked theme and its word-class.
