In China, the theory "Poems endued with feeling" is a consistent thread running through the literature history. But ancient literary critiques have not given a clear interpretation on the definition of "feeling". Wen Yi-duo thought it involves emotion and sentiment. Sentiment is second-class feeling. He objects to describing sentimental feeling in poems. Wen Yi-duo asks poets not to write when their feelings are in climax. Wen YiDuo not only inherits the ancient poetry theory but also develops it. He proposes a perspective of New Poetry's return to real poetry.
