Towards the Difference of Several Texts of Zhangshi Tongbo Qianbiao Written by Yang Weizhen and Analyses of the Reason: With a Reference to the Contribution of Zhengde Songjiang Fuzhi's Conservation of Stone Inscriptions of the Yuan Dynasty
The ink scroll Zhangshi Tongbo Qianbiao written by Yang Weizhen, the most famous literati in the Late Yuan period, is Yang's representative calligraphy work. While the text of Zhangshi Tongbo Qianbiao is kept in Yang's collection of essays, Yang Tieya Xianshen Wenji Quanlu, and a Gazetteer of the Ming Dynasty, Songjiang Fuzhi in the period of Zhengde Emperor (1506-1521). The text in the former book is close to the ink scroll, while the text in the latter book shares few similarities, which is caused mainly by the fact that the former text is based the ink scroll and the latter is based on the stone inscription. The stone inscription amended many errors in the ink scroll, especially the lineage of the Zhang's family. The ink Scroll is perhaps the first draft, and the stone inscription is based on the final version. This example shows the unique values of Zhengde Songjiang Fuzhi's conservation of stone inscriptions of the Yuan dynasty.
