Comparative Analysis of Four-Syllabic Word in Lahu and Lisu Languages

Abstract

Lahu language and Lisu language belong to Yi branch of Tibet-Burma languages, in which the words with four-syllabic patterns are widely used. This paper focuses on format patterns, phonetic harmony, semantics and pragmatic expressions of foursyllables by classifying its structural types and rhythm features. We also try to explain the causes of the format and develepment four-syllabic words.
