Due to its fragile feminine quality (Taoyameburi),Kana-diary in Heian era has not been taken seriously since its appearance.In modern time,it gains the establishment of canon as the female diary literature in Heian era in order to suit the need of the nation-state construction.The development of the private novel which appears in modern time into the mainstream of Japanese literature,is also closely related to the nation-state construction.KANA diary in Heian era and the private novel promote each other's development.
