Researches on the history of relations between China and the Korean peninsula sprouted before 1949, but normal development was after the beginning of China’s reform and opening period, especially since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea in 1992. For examples, the China’s Association of Korean History is growing stronger, academic journals for Korean history are increasing, academic conferences are becoming more frequent, academic achievements are becoming more abundant, and academic exchanges between China and South Korea are becoming more and more often. These have become the overall trends of academic development in the history of relations between China and the Korean Peninsula since the start of reform and opening period. With the rise of a new generation of Chinese scholars, research in this area will usher in new developments.
